ecpay is a platform intended for the management, issuance, and tracking of charges related to editorial services, scientific publications, books, articles, APCs, administrative fees, and other services provided by Editora Cubo or by institutions, journals, and clients served by it.

By accessing or using ecpay, you declare that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.

Use of the Platform

ecpay must be used exclusively for lawful purposes and in connection with the charges made available on the platform.

When using ecpay, the user agrees to:

• Provide true, complete, and up-to-date information;
• Use the platform only for the indicated purposes;
• Not attempt to access restricted areas, systems, data, or information without authorization;
• Not perform any acts that may compromise the security, stability, or operation of the platform;

Charges and Payments

Charges made available through ecpay may be related to editorial services, publication fees, APCs, books, events, subscriptions, administrative services, or other amounts previously agreed upon.

By making a payment, the user acknowledges that:

• They are aware of the nature of the charge;
• They have reviewed the information displayed before completing the payment;
• They are responsible for choosing the payment method;
• The transaction processing may depend on third parties, such as banks, card operators, financial platforms, or payment intermediaries;
• Payment confirmation may not be immediate, depending on the method used.

Confirmation, Receipts, and Documents

After payment confirmation, ecpay may provide or send confirmations, receipts, notifications, or documents related to the charge.

When applicable, the issuance of an invoice or equivalent document may depend on the information provided by the user and on the administrative, tax, and accounting deadlines of Editora Cubo.

Cancellations, Refunds, and Chargebacks

Requests for cancellation, refund, or chargeback will be evaluated according to:

• The nature of the contracted service;
• The stage of execution of the service;
• The rules of the institution, journal, or client responsible for the charge;
• The previously agreed commercial conditions;
• The rules of the payment methods used;
• The applicable legislation.

A refund request does not guarantee automatic approval. When there are costs, fees, services already performed, or obligations already assumed, these amounts may be deducted or considered in the analysis.

Responsibilities of Editora Cubo

Editora Cubo undertakes to keep ecpay operating regularly, adopting reasonable measures for platform security, maintenance, and improvement.

However, Editora Cubo is not responsible for:

• Temporary unavailability caused by maintenance, technical failures, or external events;
• Failures in third-party services, such as banks, card operators, payment platforms, internet providers, or hosting services;
• Incorrect information provided by the user;
• Misuse of the platform by third parties;
• Delays resulting from banking, tax, accounting, or administrative validations.

User Responsibilities

The user is responsible for:

• Reviewing the charge information before making payment;
• Correctly providing personal, tax, and contact information;
• Keeping payment confirmations and communications;
• Contacting support in case of questions, errors, or discrepancies;
• Using the platform ethically, safely, and legally.

Intellectual Property

All elements of ecpay, including its brand, name, layout, texts, features, systems, code, databases, and other platform components, belong to Editora Cubo or are used by it with proper authorization.

It is prohibited to copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, commercially exploit, or use any element of ecpay without prior and express authorization.

Privacy and Data Protection

The processing of personal data carried out by ecpay follows the platform's Privacy Policy.

By using ecpay, the user acknowledges that their data may be processed for purposes such as identification, billing, payment, document issuance, support, security, compliance with legal obligations, and fraud prevention.

Links and Third-Party Services

ecpay may contain links, redirects, or integrations with websites, institutions, journals, payment platforms, or third-party services.

Editora Cubo is not responsible for the practices, policies, content, or operation of external environments that are not under its control.

Suspension or Restriction of Access

Editora Cubo may suspend, restrict, or block access by users who:

• Provide false information;
• Attempt to violate systems, data, or security mechanisms;
• Commit fraud or attempted fraud;
• Violate these Terms of Use or applicable legislation.
